Growth Substances in Plants

چکیده
Growth substances are compounds of a hormonalnature which, although present in the plant in extremely low concentrations, govern the life of the plant. 1\-1:uch regarding these substances is still obscure. Until recently it was thought that the chemical structure of all c~mpounds with growth substance activity (both natural and synthetic) conformed to two essential requirements, but the members of a newly discovered group of compounds appear to be active as growth substances, yet do not comply with these requirements. Paradoxically enough, in certain concentrations growth substances are lethal to some plants. This has found practical application in the control of weeds.

Water relations of wheat influenced by exogenous application of growth substances under moisture stress. Hafiz Muhammad Akram*, Abdus Sattar, Hafiz Saeed-ur-Rehman and Abbas Ali
Water potential is amongst the most useful parameters for the measurement of the degree of water stress in plants. With the objective of mitigating adverse effects of moisture stress on water potential, osmotic potential and pressure potential of wheat variety Inquilab-91, a greenhouse experiment was conducted using two moisture levels viz., normal moisture supply and moisture stress at crown r...

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of expanded clay (Leca) and Styrofoam on the physical characteristics of growing media and their relationship with the growth of Spathiphyllum wallisii. The experiment was laid out in a complete randomized design (CRD) with 9 treatments and 3 replications. Cocopeat and peat moss combined with different proportions of inorganic materials Lec...

Plant biostimulants such as arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi and humic substances (HS) can be used as an appropriate alternative to chemical fertilizers, as regards to environmental problems of chemicals. The effects of Funneliformis mosseae as an AM fungus, HS (foliar spray and topdressing application), and chemical fertilizer (NK), separately or interacting, on biochemical responses in Menth...
